Pearson describes licensed airport limousines as premium black cars running roughly 10% more than a taxi; both use flat, destination-based Toronto fares with no surge. Uber's Canadian upfront pricing factors in estimated time, distance, traffic and demand - so the headline fare alone does not tell the whole story.

What each option actually costs

Taxis and limos use the GTAA's regulated flat rates, with no meter and no surge - Pearson's current estimate information adds $15 for four or more checked bags or any oversize piece, and $15 for five or more passengers. Uber shows its price before you request, but that number reflects demand at the moment you book, so comparing a generic online average to a live Uber quote can be misleading.

For the full current rate table - vehicle classes, the official GTAA tariff, the Pearson pre-arranged fee schedule and every extra charge - see the flat rates page.

Where you actually get picked up

None of the three collect passengers inside the terminal or in the parking garages - all use the designated Arrivals Level curbs or zones.

Uber's exact bay is shown in the app and can change - Pearson revised Terminal 3's rideshare zones in June 2026, which is exactly why an old screenshot can send you to the wrong curb.

Luggage, groups and child seats

A single traveller with a carry-on has very different needs from a family with four suitcases and a stroller. Four or more checked bags, or an oversize piece, can trigger Pearson's $15 taxi/limo surcharge; Uber instead asks you to pick a larger vehicle category for extra people or luggage. For a limo, confirm the vehicle size when you book rather than assuming a standard car fits everything.

Car seats are not automatic on any option - Uber offers them only in select cities and ride types, Ontario gives taxi drivers a narrow car-seat exemption that is not the same as it being safe, and a limo should be asked in advance to confirm it can fit the correct restraint for your child's age and size.

Pros and cons of each option

Airport limo: flat rate, no surge, advance booking, premium vehicle, dedicated pickup process - costs about 10% more than a taxi and still needs the airport's pickup instructions followed.

Airport taxi: flat rate, no surge, no advance booking required, taxi stand at the curb - but you may queue, and vehicle space varies.

Uber: app booking, upfront price and driver details shown before the trip, multiple vehicle categories - but pricing can rise with demand, pickup zones vary by terminal, and child-seat options are not universal.

There is no universal winner - the right choice matches your actual trip: budget, luggage, timing and how much pricing uncertainty you are comfortable with after a long flight.
